Press Freedom Rules OK?

To celebrate the centenary of the Guardian and his 50th anniversary as editor,

CP Scott wrote in 1921:

“Comment is free, but facts are sacred.”

The essay’s famous sentence has endured as the ultimate statement of values for a free press and continues to underpin the traditions of the Guardian today.
